UGA Hockey

I have worked for UGA Hockey since my sophomore year of college. As a social media intern, I work with the other members of the social team to capture and post game day content. I am responsible for posting on Instagram for most game days, but sometimes other social networks as well. The social team collaborates with other departments to make sure everyone was collecting the right content. I am currenty being trained to be intern manager next year. I also periodically write and edit articles for the team website.

My most recent article promoting UGA Hockey's Pink in the Rink game can be found here.

Sports Media Certificate Program

I was accepted into the Carmical Sports Media Institute during the fall semester of my sophomore year. This past semester I had the opportunity to take the introductory class. In this class we learned the ins and outs of working for the sports industry. We had the opportunity to write gamer articles, interview athletes and network with working professionals. This program has challenged the way I think of the sports industry, but also confirmed my want to pursue a career in this field. I  have produced some of my best articles this semester.

I had the opportunity to cover the UGA men's basketball home opener against Wake Forest and write a deadline gamer recapping the game.

I also had the opportunity to participate in a media scrum to get additional quotes and information from head coach Mike White and standout players to produce a follow up story. My follow up highlighted the play of Jabri Abdur-Rahim this season and the strides he has made on and off the court.
